Personal Prayer
Give praise to God as the all-seeing one who knows the smallest detail of the future. Thank God for revealing some things to you about the future. Confess the ease with which you plan for the future without taking into account God’s knowledge of what will happen (Jas. 4:13-15). Commit yourself to bringing your plans to him daily, asking his insight and guidance. Ask God to begin preparing you now for the challenges that lie ahead.

For Your Family and Friends
Pray for young people who are concerned about their future—and the elderly who are facing the unknowns of death in their future. Ask God to reassure them of his presence with them always.

For the Church
Pray that the church education program of your church will effectively prepare both adults and children to meet the challenges, work, and possible persecution of the years that lie ahead.

For the Kingdom
Pray for missionaries and teachers in developing countries, that they will have the necessary resources to adequately teach people to read and write and hear the gospel.

For People to Know Jesus
Pray for the opportunity to talk to someone who has wandered from the truth. Ask God to use you in bringing that person back to Christ (Jas. 5:19-20).
