Personal Prayer
Praise the sovereign one who works out everything for his own ends (Prov. 16:4). Thank God for determining your steps (16:9). Confess any area where you may be doubting that his leading is best. “Commit to the LORD whatever you [are planning to] do,” knowing that then “your plans will succeed” (16:3). Ask the Lord to alter any plans that are not fully in line with his best.

For Your Family and Friends
Pray for anyone close who seems more interested in the riches of this world than those of God. Ask God to help all to remember that it is far “better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver” (16:16).

For the Church
Pray for Christians to give cheerfully and generously of this world’s resources for leading many to the riches of God. Ask God to give great discernment to those managing ministry resources.

For the Kingdom
Pray for relief from poverty for one of the nations in the news. Ask God to bless the work of Christian relief agencies and others seeking to help.

For People to Know Jesus
Pray that Christians’ generosity will shine beautifully in the darkness of our materialistic culture. Ask God to draw many through this light to exchange their trinkets for his true treasure.
