Prayer Submission Guidelines

Here are the guidelines to write prayers for our new prayer guide booklet for teens and kids on praying against anxiety.

  1. Choose a verse to base your prayer upon. Include the verse separately at the top. Note: our standard version is NIV, but if you select a verse from a different version that is fine, but please include the version.
  2. Make sure to include some of the words from the verse in your prayer.
  3. Length: No more than 100 words.
  4. Write it in a way that a teen can pray it.
  5. It can be focused on a specific issue they are anxious about—up-coming test, bullied on social media or directly, relationships, etc.
  6. Use Less Obvious Scriptures. Many people will go to Philippians 4:6 or 1 Peter 5:7. That’s fine, but we recommend using other scriptures for a better chance to be selected. In the final guide, it is doubtful we will run more than a few prayers from the same verse.
  7. Include your name and contact information with the prayers you submit: Name, Phone #, email, address.
  8. DO NOT PULL PRAYER FROM ANOTHER SOURCE OR USE AI TO GENERATE PRAYER! Please develop an original prayer from your heart. We do not want any copyright infringements!
  9. We Cannot Pay for Your Submission. Our desire is to make the finished guide as inexpensive to produce as possible, we regret that we cannot pay you for your entry. We will include your name with the prayer (no bio), we will give you 5 copies of the finished guide as an author, plus an author discount on further purchases of 5 or more copies.
  10. Prayers must be received no later than August 31, 2025 to be considered for publication.

We anticipate receiving more prayers than we use in the finished booklet. Depending on how many, we may look for other ways to use the additional prayers we have. By submitting a prayer, you are given us the right to use as we see fit. No further permission is needed from you.

Submit prayers to jon@prayerleader.com.

SAMPLE PRAYER ENTRY:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)

Jesus,
I’m carrying a lot of anxiety right now.
Your Word says not to be anxious about anything but to pray about everything.
So I’m coming to You.
You already know what is on my heart, my stress, my fears, and the things I cannot control.
Help me to trust You more each day.
Please guard my heart and mind with Your peace, the kind that goes beyond understanding.
Remind me I am not alone in this.
You are with me, and You are stronger than anything I face.
Thank You for always being faithful.

In Jesus’ mighty name I pray! Amen.
