Doing Everything in the Strength of Christ

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (nkjv)

Lord Jesus Christ, this day I confess that You are the True Vine and we, Your people, are Your branches. I ask that I and my brothers and sisters might be reminded continually that unless we are connected to You, there will be no lasting spiritual fruit produced by our lives. May we respond to Your voice calling us into deeper intimacy with You. Teach us to abide in Your presence. (Pause and pray for those in your church community that they will listen for and respond to the Holy Spirit. Ask that your ears might be tuned to His voice.)

May we, Your Church, be strengthened with the resurrection power of Christ so that we might be able to turn back the battles of our lives and stand firm in our faith. For we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. (Pray for those in your community of faith who are experiencing trials. Ask that they might be strengthened to persevere.)

Strengthen our hearts, I pray, that we might live our lives in such a way that we will be found blameless and holy in Your presence when You return, Lord Jesus. For it is Your will that we should be holy and live lives that are pleasing to You. Strengthen us with power through the Holy Spirit, I pray, for without You we can do nothing. (Pray that a greater hunger for holiness will be poured out on your church community.)

Build Your Church through us, Father; we do not want to labor in vain! Keep us from serving, ministering, living in our own strength. Forgive us for the ways that we have relied on our own wisdom, abilities, and resources instead of Your Spirit. May we serve and minister with hearts that are fully devoted to You, and be strengthened, for withoutYou we can do nothing. (Pray for the ministries of your faith community asking that those who serve will minister in the strength of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Pray for your pastor(s).)

I ask that we be reminded continually by the Holy Spirit that it is Christ in us, the hope of glory, who strengthens us to fearlessly engage in the work of the kingdom in all we do. This day, Father, may our lives be marked by increasing boldness, confidence—even risk taking—for the sake of Your Church and a world that does not yet know You. May You be strong in and through us. Your mighty power displayed and Your name glorified. For we can do all things through You, Lord Jesus, Who gives us strength.

Be our strength this day, I ask in Your name. Amen.
