Cruz Joins Prayer on Capitol Hill

Presidential candidate Ted Cruz led in prayer at a gathering with conservative pastors and members of Congress on Capitol Hill after the November elections.

The prayer was organized by Wallbuilders (run by David Barton) and the Jefferson Gathering (a prayer organization developed by Skyline Church, with lead pastor Jim Garlow). Pastor Dave Walker of the Tennessee Pastors Network and Dave Kistler of the North Carolina Pastors Network also participated in the event.

“Senator Ted Cruz was eloquent as usual.” Garlow wrote on Facebook. “He came through a bruising election—and continues to be a profound and significant voice in the Senate. Thank God for him!”

The group prayed in the Kennedy Caucus Room in the Capitol and in the U.S. Senate Chamber. Rep. Louie Gohmert also gave leadership. “We got on our knees . . .” Kistler says, “and it sounded almost like a labor room as people were crying out to God for the revival that Senate Chaplain Barry Black believes is coming and that we believe is coming. To do that in the Senate chamber was an absolutely astounding opportunity.”
