Recently I was reminded again, how important the ministry of rallying
and mobilizing prayer is in the local church.

I was recently in a small church that for years has struggled to grow
beyond 60 people. They are dear, sincere people who want to trust God to
use them in greater ways in their community. I challenged them to focus
more on kingdom issues in their prayers (as opposed to just the needs
of the congregation).

Years ago I heard an assistant coach in the National Football League
share an acronym--during his Christian testimony--that really
characterizes one of the most distinguishing marks between what we might
call a “Prayer-Ministry” church versus a first-century “House of
Prayer” church.
