What Does a Praying Church Look Like? |
|
|
|
I would like to know opinions on what a praying church looks like. If
you visited a church, what would tell you whether or not prayer was
important to that church?

A Renewed Challenge to Pray for Your Pastors and Your Church |

The New Year traditionally brings new excitement and anticipation for
what lies ahead in the coming 12 months. Many folks sit down and create
(or in some cases re-create) their new list of personal resolutions;
most often related to lifestyle changes that they purpose to do
diligently, which will bring about desired positive results!

A One Year Experiment in Prayer |
|
|

Seeing prayers answered is a powerful motivator to keep on praying.
Recently, Calvary Memorial Church, in Oak Park, IL set out on a one
year journey, an experiment, to see how God would answer a limited
number of requests, brought repeatedly before Him by a set amount of
people. The experiment involved 31 people, one for each day of the
month. Each participant was asked to read a few items regarding prayer
and fasting and to commit to the prayer experiment for the duration of
the 12 months.

One of the most significant reasons for the development of Pray!
magazine 13 years ago, was my burden for the prayer life of the average
believer in the pew. Many people know they struggle in prayer, don’t
pray enough, and need help to grow in that area. We wanted Pray! to
help disciple them into a deeper prayer life. My heart’s burden was for
them—because I was one.

Effective Tools to Assist Congregations |

What do Winston Churchill, a young human resources manager and prayer
discipleship have in common? In 1984, a few weeks after Churchill’s
underground World War 2“War Rooms” were made public, Mike Jebb, the
founder of Strategic Prayer Initiative, visited the location. He was
struck by how detailed and systematic the planning had been.
